Sonovation首席技术官雷纳·施密特（rainer schmitt）表示，该公司的技术“非常适合透过玻璃的指纹识别，而产品架构能给移动设备和物联网设备带来先进的信息安全技术，同时便于集成”。
尽管目前尚不清楚这一技术的细节，但Sonovation宣布，该公司的传感器“能够捕捉包括脊线和谷线在内的指纹数据”。此外，如果用户手指潮湿，或是有油渍，那么3d扫描技术将发挥作用，从而确保准确性。
Sonovation仅仅只是发布了这一新技术。目前也不清楚，这一技术何时会出现在我们的手机或平板电脑中。
