全球知名动态随机存取存储器(DRAM)设计、研发、制造及销售公司茂德科技股份有限公司 (ProMOS)于2015年10月8日在美国特拉华州联邦地方法院控告韩国三星(Samsung)及其子公司的产品侵害其六件专利。涉诉产品包括智能手机、平板、台式电脑、笔记本电脑、智能电视、显示器和三星的DRAM芯片、闪存芯片。涉诉专利见下表所示：

茂德科技2003年取得茂硅美国子公司UMI（United Memories Inc）100%股权、MVC（Mosel Vitelic Corporation）50%股权、茂硅全球记忆体专利权、DRAM产品权利以及茂硅在美国中央实验室（Central Lab）开发的Flash制程技术及相关知识产权，因此取得涉诉专利US 6,088,270、US 5,761,112、US 5,761,112、US 6,020,259和US 6,699,789的专利权。
